We return with another monthly roundup of news and analysis on political prisoners and prison rebellions.

This past month has a lot of love and a lot of loss. Our hearts are enflamed in revolutionary memory of the past that isn’t past but is what drives our struggles forward.

Following the closing of It’s Going Down, a new collective will continue publishing monthly “In Contempt” updates on this noblogs. People can submit updates and calls to action to the new email in_contempt at autistici dot org. Look out for monthly printable zines!

We’re also interested in providing more up to date roundups about international political prisoners, so please contribute if you can, whether updates or translations.

So much is happening so let’s jump right in!

Imam Jamil Al-Amin, Presente!

Revolutionary Jamil Al-Amin returned to the ancestors on November 23, 2025 after 25 years in federal prison.

In the words of his son,

Inna Lilahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un from Allah we come, surely to Allah is our Return. I lost my father today.

Ya Allah please accept my father, Imam Jamil Al-Amin as a shaheed, a martyr, a dedicated servant to You ya Allah please make his grave  spacious and reserve for him the most beautiful spot in your paradise, please grant him peace, Ameen.

It’s no longer free my father, my father is Free.

As Black Alliance for Peace memorialized,

To speak of Imam Jamil Al-Amin (formerly H. Rap Brown) is to speak of a life lived in courageous chapters. As the Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), his voice, sharp as a scalpel and uncompromising as truth, cut through the illusions of a nation in denial. He was, as he famously declared, “a revolutionary,” and his very existence was a challenge to the violent architecture of white supremacy. His leadership was a clear call that moved from the plea for rights to the demand for power. He did so in a 1965 meeting with President Lyndon Johnson, demanding protection for voting rights workers in Selma, Alabama, while other “leaders” present were just happy to be at the white house.

His legacy, however, extends far beyond the powerful oratory of the 1960s and his written word in his autobiography, Die Nigger Die!. His transformation into Imam Jamil Al-Amin represented a deep, spiritual journey and a continuation of his revolutionary work through the disciplines of faith, community building, and moral clarity. In West Atlanta, he was not just a leader but a pillar, working to create a self-sufficient Black community grounded in Islamic principles and social justice. It was here that the full depth of his political vision matured, most critically in what he termed “the politics of education.”

Imam Jamil’s “politics of education” was a radical framework for intellectual and spiritual liberation. He invited a clear, unflinching introspection into the use of U.S. propaganda as a primary weapon to deplete and dismantle the revolutionary fervor of the Black masses. He understood that after the open brutality of fire hoses and police dogs came another insidious assault: a media and cultural narrative designed to confuse, co-opt, and corrupt our understanding of our own condition and our own power. He taught that to truly be free, we must first decolonize our minds, to see through the manufactured reality that justifies our oppression and sows internal division. This message remains a critical, urgent tool in our ongoing struggle in the battle of ideas.

It is precisely this unwavering clarity that made him a permanent target of the state. He was under COINTELPRO surveillance and was listed by name in the 1967 FBI memo which established the plan to “expose, disrupt, misdirect, discredit, or otherwise neutralize the activities” of Brown and others in the liberation movement.  His 2002 conviction for the alleged murder of a sheriff’s deputy was a vendetta realized, a judicial lynching designed to silence a voice that could not be co-opted. The facts scream of its injustice: the confession of another man; evidence that should have exonerated  him; a gag order to silence his defense; and the unprecedented, punitive measure of holding a state prisoner in a federal supermax prison, exiled from his attorneys, his family, and his community. For over twenty years, he endured the slow violence of medical neglect while incarcerated — a passive death sentence hoping nature would finish what the courts began, a state execution by another name.

His body was caged, but his spirit remained free. Rest in power, Imam Jamil Al-Amin.

Free All Political Prisoners!

In the words of Ojore Lutalo, “Any movement that fails to support its political prisoners is a sham movement!” Revolutionaries don’t exist in the past––their memories and knowledge are here and now, and we don’t have to wait until their lives are taken by the cages of the state to fight for their freedom.

Imam Jamil Al-Amin’s revolutionary life, work, and legacy will be a constant source of struggle for decades to come. Jamil Al-Amin’s fiery speeches and political autobiography are just a few of the eternal gifts to revolutionary struggles for Black liberation. Learn and act.

NOTE TO AMERICA:

If it takes my death to organize my people to revolt against you and to organize your jails to revolt against you, and to organize your troops to revolt against yo, and to organize your children, your God, your poor, your country, and to organize mankind to rejoice in your destruction and ruin, then here is my life. BUT, MY SOUL BELONGS TO MY PEOPLE!

LASIME TUSHINDE MBILASHAKA! (Translated from Swahili: WE SHALL CONQUER WITHOUT A DOUBT!)

–– Jamil Al-Amin, A Letter from Parrish Prison, New Orleans, February 21, 1968)

December 6, 2025, 3:40pm

Dear family, compas, friends, and community:

Thank you very much for all your letters, love, and solidarity with our beloved Yorch. We have read each and every one of your messages and we are very grateful because we know that he hears us and knows that he is not alone.

We want to share with you that our compañero’s health has become more delicate every day. Even with the dignified attention that he is finally receiving and the enormous and loving efforts made by doctors and hospital personnel charged with his treatment, due to the advanced state of deterioration he was in upon arriving at the hospital – where he is now – it has been very complex attending to his urgent condition. After the long period of medical neglect, the effects of the damned prison on all facets of prisoners’ health – and more in this case, where the violence of the State and UNAM orchestrated repression against him – and his prior medical issues which themselves paint a picture of potential complications due to his hospitalization, multiple surgeries, and irreversible damage suffered in 2019 when Yorch survived appendicitis that was not treated in time.

Sadly, our compañero now does not have the possibility of recovering a dignified quality of life and he has a very high probability of remaining in the state he is in now and due to the risks presented by the procedures and treatments indicated by his clinical state in the coming days. During recent weeks, Yorch was wandering from site to site without precise information. We did not receive clear news regarding his condition, treatment, or anything else. The prison authorities and those of the various hospitals where he has been this past month did not inform us of the severity of his condition until he arrived at the current hospital and we learned minutes before they had to intubate him – due to neurological failures that don’t allow for him to breathe unaided – that this was just a small part of the series of complications he has. The situation took us completely by surprise.

With pain in our hearts, we believe that the most loving thing we can do at this time is to take responsibility that the best for our Yorch is that he stops suffering and that his body may finally rest. He needs our accompaniment, solidarity, and support to face this difficult and painful transition. We know that he is faced with a complex decision that, on one hand, he would want to stay here with us and attend to your calls for strength and recovery, but, on the other hand, his body no longer has the possibility of meeting these desires.

With much attention, we ask that you send all your love, care, fire, and wishes so that he may go through this transition accompanied by us and have a dignified death. We want you to have the opportunity to say goodbye in the way that each of you are able. To do so, we call upon you to gather, starting now, from your different geographies and collectivities to place a candle, flowers, smoke, punk and noise songs…all that can transport your wishes from your hearts to his.

We also thank you for continuing to send your letters to yorchlibre@gmail.com. You can write about your history with him, what he means to you, and the way in which you would like to say goodbye. As difficult and painful as this is for every one of us, it is very important for his process. We will continue reading your words during visits, which are unfortunately limited to people authorized by the prison since the beginning of this long journey of hospitalizations and transfers.

We continue fighting for his freedom and dignity, be it in life or in death.

Fire to the prisons, free Yorch now!

PS: We know that many of you have greater concerns due to your direct relationship with Yorch, but we hope you understand that this is the information we have available. We regret that we cannot respond to every message we receive, but time and mental capacity do not allow for that. Without getting into personal issues, we appreciate your respect for our path and for being part of this struggle. Thank you also for caring about us and looking out for our well-being.

Calls to Action

New Years Eve Noise Demos

The yearly call for international New Years Eve noise demonstrations outside jails and prisons has been posted; actions are planned in Brooklyn and Miami.

This is a call for a raucous night of strong solidarity with those imprisoned by the state on one of the noisiest nights of the year. On New Year’s Eve gather your crew, collective, community, organization, or just yourself and come together to raise a racket and remind those on the inside that they are not alone.

Internationally, noise demonstrations outside of prisons are a way to remember those who are held captive by the state and a way to show solidarity with imprisoned comrades and loved ones. We come together to break the loneliness and isolation.

We know that prison is beyond reform and must be completely abolished. It is a mechanism of repression used by the state to maintain a social order rooted in white supremacy, patriarchy, and heteronormativity. To come together outside of the sites of repression is to also stand in defiance of what they represent.

The logic of the state and capital—of punishment and imprisonment, must be replaced by a rejection of oppression and exploitation. This call is one step in that direction.

Wherever you are, meet on New Year’s Eve at the prisons, jails, and detention centers, be loud in solidarity with those imprisoned and to push forward the idea of a world free from domination.

We want a world without walls and borders.

We will fight together until everyone is free!

“Attack the Enemy on All Fronts”:

Solidarity with Indonesian Anarchists Facing Repression

Palang Hitam / Anarchist Black Cross is urgently in need of financial solidarity to continue prisoner support activities and to secure commercial lawyers for the defendants. Please contact Dark Nights or recognized long-running ABC groups to donate.

November 29 Update:

Conditions inside police detention:

– From the very beginning, this case hasn’t been handled only by regular police and the Cyber Crime unit, but also by Densus 88 (the special anti-terrorism/anti-makar squad). Makar is Indonesian term for “inciting an action or planning to overthrow the government”).

– Most of the arrested anarchists have already started going through trials and have been moved to Kebon Waru prison.

– Eat (Reyhard Rumbayan) still has zero info about when his trial will happen. He’s the only one who’s been interrogated by Densus 88 — they see him as the “mastermind” behind everything related to the anarchist stuff.

– There are basically three types of charges being thrown at the detainees: (1) the brains behind the scenes, (2) the instigators, (3) the ones who got instigated. Of course, that’s because the state can’t wrap its head around the idea that spontaneous actions can happen without any leader — that concept just doesn’t exist in state logic.

– The anarchist detainees don’t have access to lawyers. Some of them were thrown straight into solitary confinement for a month or even longer. By Indonesian law, a lawyer has to be appointed by family members. Problem is, quite a few of these anarchists don’t have family willing to help. A couple who finally got family support are now starting to work with lawyers. Some lawyers are already being lined up for those who haven’t gone to trial yet.

– Health conditions of several detainees are getting worse. Two people were badly physically tortured, one was psychologically tortured to the point of severe depression so bad he can barely speak, one is in critical condition and was taken to a military hospital, and Eat’s health is deteriorating because they won’t let him get the regular medication he needs for his medical condition.

– The initial donated money has mostly been used to cover medical treatment so far.

– Latest news: 12 anarchists were arrested in Bali and transferred to police detention in West Java.

General situation in Indonesia:

– Densus 88 has started infiltrating anarchist circles, including scenes that are considered close to anarchists, like the punk scene.

– These infiltrators are using imagery and symbols that anarchists (especially insurrectionary ones) normally use, so others will think they’re legit. They’re actively pushing for riots like the ones that happened last August, hoping to scoop up young anarchists who join in.

– Bad news: some of these infiltrators have actually succeeded.

– This is going to turn into a massive witch-hunt against anarchists all over Indonesia.

Palang Hitam / ABC has published a list of addresses for and updates about the 43 “Chaos Star” imprisoned comrades in Bandung:

After the mass revolts in August 2025, where a large section of the population rose up and attacked the state’s basic corruption and inequality, 43 anarchist comrades are imprisoned at the West Java paramilitary police compound in Bandung. There is no access for anyone but the families, and even this is minimal. The detainees have been cut off and they are being used in a mainstream media manipulation campaign by the Indonesian state. Many of the imprisoned comrades are very young. They are all accused of being part of the individualist-nihilist “Chaos Star” network, which is a fabrication created by the police for the purpose of their prosecution. The police claim that the imprisoned comrades were radicalised by ‘Leaders’ and funded by foreign anarchist organisations. The cops point to the existence of banners, flags, books, pamphlets and music, which is in the possession of the detainees, as commonly held items denotative of membership of this “Chaos Star” organisation.

Some of the comrades are accused of serious direct actions such as molotov attacks, arson, riot, property destruction, etc. Lastly some of the comrades are accused of instigation, either online, for their blogs or social medias or for their ‘prominent’ role. They are isolated in the paramilitary compound and the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) in Bandung has been blocked from representing them. An option is to hire a private lawyer but that would cost tens of millions (rupiah). We ask for heightened attention to this dangerous situation. Torture and abuse are being widely used on the detainees, confirmed by the families. The young comrades were injured and hurt until they gave false confessions that they were even at the demonstrations and/or part of specific organisations, as they were subjected to the brutality of the paramilitary police. This is a known fact and a reality that we have to confront. In the wake of the insurrection across Indonesia against the right-wing ex-military Prabowo Subianto, the young people and the anarchist movement has been severely repressed by the regime. Many young people have been caught up in the police assaults and regardless of their supposed “guilt” or “non-guilt”, we extend our solidarity with them, and to all those who struggle against social oppression, prisons, police and the state.

We are publishing the names of our imprisoned comrades and the prison address of the West Java paramilitary police compound where our friends are held. Let’s not leave these comrades alone and let’s send them solidarity letters, postcards and our message of fire. Even if the solidarity post is stolen and blocked by the administrators of abuse, they will know that we will hold them all responsible for what is taking place in Bandung. Let’s shine a light on what the hated police torturers and regime of Prabowo Subianto are doing to our young comrades, and where it is taking place and by whom, and let’s fight back against the police and all prisons everywhere.

Palang Hitam / ABC also shared a statement from some of the imprisoned anarchists at the West Java Paramilitary police compound:

Greetings to friends and to enemies alike,
Even now, the structures of power—ancient, rigid, and towering—continue to stand. Yet last August, people cracked the illusion of their invincibility. They showed that nothing is beyond transformation when our desires converge into a force capable of opening pathways toward the worlds we long to create.

We are individualists because we refuse the ideological fantasies of withered anarchists who preach like missionaries of a fading religion.

We are individualists because we believe in an anarchy of imagination—creative, diverse, unbound.

We are individualists who hold that nihilism is a concrete passage toward self-actualization, beyond the messianic dead-ends of dividing reality into “good” and “evil,” knowing full well the complexity of life cannot be squeezed into the decaying relics of Judeo-Christian doctrine—relics that should be buried like the myths of prophets and their fading gods.

We are individualists because we believe in the absolute autonomy of each person to shape the life they desire—yet we also believe in cooperation, in the equality of individuals who pursue their desires together. Our anti-social anarchy is an active refusal of the old values reproduced endlessly in everyday life.

At the same time we are bewildered, amused, and entertained by the foolish accusations hurled by some social anarchists who label us “purists” as if our rejection of organization were born of loyalty to some classical anarchist canon—an ideology drenched in Eurocentrism, streaked with the colonial residue of Western civilization, and infused with the Enlightenment’s humanism, the very root of authoritarian democracy. We reject all ideologies. The rebels of Paris Commune in 1871, the revolutionaries of Spain in 1936, the dreamers of Paris in 1968, and those of August 2025—all remind us of brief lives that were truly worth living beyond any ideologies.

From behind these walls and bars, we send a sharp wind toward every wild soul, reminding them that they are not alone against the repulsive realities engineered by the powerful.

The compass of anarchy draws us together at the threshold between free will and the will to power. We belong to no formal anarchist organization (spare us).

We are not part of impotent collectives like the PRISONERS’ UNION, (Serikat Tahanan) nor of any group that claims us for their own—much less the so-called anarchist movement with its church-like rigidity and archaic morality.

Toward the fusion of social and individual anarchy, and toward the negation of every radical movement that mirrors—or even surpasses—the mental and physical prisons of the state and capitalism!
This is an open letter to all anarchist of praxis. Fuck all idols, burn all radical bibles, and attack the enemy on all fronts.

FAAF and Individualist prisoners, West Java police prison, December 1, 2025.

Of the 43 anarchist prisoners, eight anarchist detainees from the “Chaos Star” case have undergone their first court on 18 November 2025. This means they have now been transferred to the prosecutor’s detention facility. All eight were tortured to force them into confessing to the alleged offenses.

Dark Nights has also published updates from Palang Hitam / ABC about specific anarchist comrades facing torture and abuse.

Prisoners for Palestine Hunger Strike

Since the last In Contempt column, Palestine Action UK political prisoners have been on hunger strike for more than 35 days, fighting for their five demands:

1 An end to censorship and surveillance of communications.
2 Immediate release on bail for all prisoners on remand.
3 A fair trial and full disclosure of government and arms export records.
4 Deproscribe Palestine Action and end the use of counter-terrorism laws.
5 The permanent shutdown of Elbit Systems sites in the UK.

Teuta Hoxha was the 5th prisoner to join the hunger strike on November 9. T was hospitalized on November 28 due to her rapidly deteriorating health after 20 days on hunger strike.

T was arrested in the dawn raids against Palestine activists on 19th November 2024 by counter-terrorism police  in the third wave of Filton arrests on allegations of being connected to the Filton action, which saw over £1 million in damage caused to Elbit’s research centre for Israeli weapons making her one of the Filton 24. Although the terror charges were dropped, she has been held in remand ever since and has spent her 29th birthday behind bars.

T previously blockaded the entrance of Elbit’s Bristol HQ, forcing the Israeli weapons maker to close, and soon after, she also disrupted Elbit-investor BNY Mellon’s office in Manchester. She was moved from HMP Bronzefield on the day MPs voted to proscribe Palestine Action.

On 11 August 2025, T went on hunger strike in protest of the prison’s violations of her fundamental rights such as the cancellation of her recreational and educational activities, the withholding of her mail, and her removal from a job in the prison library. She also reported mistreatment by guards, who constantly referred to her as a terrorist. She has both been called a terrorist by prison staff and told she belongs to a terrorist group, continuously being subject to retrospective punishment after the proscription of Palestine Action before, during and after her hunger strike which she ended in victory after 28 days of resistance. During T’s hunger strike, she was joined by two political prisoners in the US, Casey Goonan and Mohammed Malik in a stunning action of fearless and humbling solidarity transcending man-made imaginary borders.

In her reflections on her hunger strike, she cites the Islamic proverb, “Our mercy and compassion for each other is like that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reels with sleeplessness and fever,” contemplating that, “…it is with this view we accept that global solidarity movements constitute one body. What affects one affects us all. Therefore in the same vein we say there is no freedom until Palestine is free.”

Kamran Ahmed was the 6th prisoner to join hunger strike on November 10. Kamran was also hospitalized after collapsing with low blood sugar levels, indicating hypoglycaemia.

Kamran was arrested in a violent dawn raid by counter-terrorism police on 19th November 2024 during which his elderly parents were also denied food and medication for hours. He was then remanded to prison after being charged with a non-terrorism related offence on allegations of being connected to the Filton action, which saw over £1 million in damage caused to Elbit’s research centre for Israeli weapons- making him one of the Filton 24. During his time in prison, Kamran’s fundamental rights have been consistently abused by the prison, including restrictons on visits and mail, being arbitrarily subjected to isolation and limited access to the prison library.

In his reflections after his court hearing in March 2025, Kamran shares how he would have responded to the judge: “As with your decision about how to proceed with our case, you spit in the face of many before me who fought against oppression. You spit in the face of the suffragettes, who like us, sat in jail, some 15 minutes down from here, at the now closed Holloway Road Prison. You spit on the face of Anne Frank, who wished someone would put a halt to that genocide (Holocaust). You spit on the face of every American who refused to pillage Vietnam. What the 3 events have in common is that people like you had the power to stop or end it. But it took those with a bit of humanity instead to step in and outnumber those who care more for their job or the vehicle they drive. Before I was remanded I remember reading something along the lines of, ‘You ask what you would’ve done then? You’re doing it now.’”

A 7th prisoner, Muhammad Umer Khalid, joined the open-ended hunger strike on December 5.

The Prisoners for Palestine hunger strike has inspired waves of international solidarity.

Italian anarchist political prisoner “Stecco” joined the hunger strike on November 4, closing his statement in the words of Kurdish comrade Sakîne Cansiz:

“On the other hand, facing the enemy on your own is also a special thing. Revolutionary will gathers in you. You can feel within yourself conviction, determination, the pure desire to fight. It is the most beautiful part of revolutionary struggle. Nothing distracts you, and you demolish the enemy with the strength of your personality. It is something to do with you, but also with the enemy’s image reflected in you. In your defense, it recognizes its impotence.”

Palestinian prisoners freed from Zionist jails by the resistance in the Toufan al-Ahrar exchange and living in exile expressed their support for the hunger strikers. On behalf of the displaced Palestinian prisoners in exile, Abdel-Nasser Issa sent a message of support:

Honorable comrades struggling in the prisons of the United Kingdom,
Revolutionary greetings. Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

From the reality of the struggle experience inside the prisons and cells of the Zionist occupation, where one of our most important tools was the struggle through hunger strike, or what we call in our literature the “Battle of Empty Stomachs”, we draw near today to your feelings, filled with challenge, positivity, and distinction, as you wage yet another just battle in the course of your struggle against the injustice and oppression whose price you are paying today in the prisons of the British government.

We too are scorched by the fire of its laws, which remain to this moment tools of repression in the hands of the occupation’s courts, just as our children are burned by the fire of its weapons through Britain’s support for the killing machine in Gaza—just as, in the past, it killed thousands of our grandparents and parents, including the hundreds executed by the British Mandate authorities as part of its fulfillment of the accursed Balfour Declaration, whose bitter anniversary coincides with the launch of your just battle.

As we witness your steadfastness and your sacrifices in support of justice and the struggle against oppression, we extend to you our greetings and our pride in you, wishing you victory in your just battle. May your voice and your actions remain high, effective, and accomplished in the ongoing battle of truth against the injustice of Zionism and those who created it.

With pride and honor in you,
The displaced Palestinian prisoners

On behalf of the Palestinian prisoners liberated in the several stages of the Toufan al-Ahrar exchange, Ammar al-Zaben also addressed his solidarity to the Prisoners for Palestine:

Additionally, another Italian anarchist political prisoner, Massimo Passamani, gave up his work release in solidarity with the hunger strikers, expressing his solidarity in a statement from Trento Prison:

The strength that comes to me from British prisons which, in turn, reflects the tenacity of that resistance which Zionist prisons and administrative detention centers are unable to bow, despite the isolation, the torture, and the rapes has not only the form of a commonality of ethics and ideals, but also the intensity of the emotions I feel in reading the hunger strike statements. I am convinced because I feel it in every fiber of my soul – that the worldwide stirring against the genocide in Gaza and against the global system that makes it possible is a new start, a beginning. In addition to what has happened in the streets, in the ports, in the universities; in addition to the sabotages done by day and by night, the protests that link prisoners across cell bars, countries, and continents are also an important sign of this. First of all, because the relationship being created between “inside” and “outside” is one of reciprocity and circularity, and not just one of support from “outside” to “inside”. The fact that the shutdown of all Elbit Systems establishments in the UK is one of Prisoners for Palestine’s demands shows the will not to separate one’s own fate from the liberation of Palestine, a goal that requires nothing less than the global subversion of the relations of power and exploitation, of which Zionist settler colonialism is an essential node.

Protesters gathered on Westminster Bridge on November 15th dropping a banner that read ‘WE SUPPORT THE HUNGER STRIKE. WE SUPPORT PALESTINE ACTION.’ Five of the protesters were arrested under terrorism charges.

Other protests have occurred outside the Houses of Parliament and HMP Peterbough.

Final Straw Radio was recently joined by Francesca, a member of Prisoners For Palestine who is a former prisoner herself, to talk about the hunger strike. You can listen, read a transcript, or print out a zine of their conversation.

Another support resources that’s available is a zine compiling the statements of the hunger strikers to print and share.

Filton 24

The Filton 24 trial began on November 17 at Woolwich Crown Court.

From Free the Filton 24:

In August 2024, Jordan, Sam, Ellie, Fatema, Zainab, Lottie, and Zoe bypassed the security of the newly built, secret site of Israel’s biggest weapons producer Elbit Systems.

The site had been marketed as a ‘research and development’ facility, yet the six activists uncovered masses of weapons that were being stored in this undercover warehouse.

During their action they dismantled and neutralized a shipment of killer quadcopter drones that Israel uses on Gaza.

All six have remained in prison under terrorism legislation for over a year.

Their actions upheld international lawy by intervening in an active genocide and daring to disrupt the flow of arms to the Zionist entity.

Since they were detained, a further 18 people were arrested for alleged involvement in the action.

Theirs became a test case for the British government’s most severe crackdown on direct action and solidarity with Palestine.

Daily trial updates are available to read from Real Media.

Free the Filton 24 also has provided more ways to support the defendants on their website, including showing up outside of court.

“Shibby” Jumps Bail

Sean Middlebrough, political prisoner from the Filton 24, escaped from a UK prison after being released on temporary bail for his brother’s wedding.

Asked in an interview about why he jumped bail, Sean responded,

I’m simply too sensible. I know that the courts and the system has been against us and against justice ever since there’s been foreign interference in pro-Palestine protest cases. So I simply refuse ot be a prisoner of war by Israel in a British prison. That’s how I saw myself––a political prisoner. And I just felt that on top of the fact that I’ve been remanded twice, plus in both instances the charges were dopped after spending a period of time on remand with extensive bail conditions when I did get bail. It’s simply not sensible to play along with this pantomime.

This is just stripping protestors’ rights in favour of the Israeli arms industry.

It’s important to talk about these things, to talk about how unlawful the British government has been, not only in their complicity in enabling a genocide and failure to stop it, which they absolutely have a right to do. But their unlawful use of the counter-terrorism police on pro-Palestine protestors. So, you know, it’s my goal and aim to expose all of these things while I have the opportunity, as well as to raise the voices of the Filton 24 who are in prison and are heavily censored, and people can’t hear from them as freely as you can other prisoners.

In a statement provided to Electronic Intifada, Sean said,

“They are the best of us, and we must rally behind their fight. While I am free, I will raise their voice beyond the prison walls, for everything that they are and they stand for – a free Palestine!”

“I’m not on the run, I am merely being sensible, refusing to be held as a prisoner of war of Israel in a British prison…”

A longer interview with Sean is available to watch via Declassified UK

Call to Action for Xinachtli

Chicano political prisoner Xinachtli’s health is worsening in Texas prisons. Supporters report that he can barely walk, stand, or use the bathroom, and has fallen twice, cracking his head on the ground. Xinachtli has also experienced rapid weight loss and increasing difficulty breathing. He is currently in the medical department of McConnell without a diagonsis, without access to his medical records, and without the ability to call anyone outside. During his time in the infirmary, prison staff threw away his belongings, “lost” his commissary card, and have intentionally given him incorrect forms to obstruct medical visitations and access to care.

McConnell Unit Director Angela Chevalier: (361) 362-6238

McConnell Unit Senior Warden Larissa Wysocki : (361) 362-2300 (*048 to be transferred)

…as well as the following script:

Hell0, my name is _________ and I’m calling about the urgent medical situation of Alvaro Hernandez (TDCJ #00255735) at McConnell Unit.

Alvaro’s health has deteriorated severely. He can barely walk or stand, and has fallen twice––one fall causing a head injury. He still has no diagnosis, no access to his medical records, and no phone cord to contact anyone.

I’m calling to ask the following:

1. That Alvaro remain under medical care to receive a diagnosis and treatment.

2. That Alvaro be given a phone cord immediately so he can make calls.

3. That Alvaro and his lawyer receive his full medical records.

4. That TDCJ begin transferring Xinachtli to a geriatric or medical facility, or consider medical release.

Supporters have also called for a Month of Action to support Xinachtli. In their words,

Xinachtli’s condition has reached a tipping point: the physical, mental, and spiritual harm he is experiencing is irreversible without immediate intervention.

Texas has used medical neglect, isolation, and targeted retaliation to silence revolutionary elders and political prisoners for decades. We have watched the government kill leaders whose teachings and resistance shaped our movements, leaving us with memories instead of comrades. As Xinachtli has said, “They wouldn’t even do this to animals.”

Every day they deny him medical care, they move closer to turning his unjust sentence into a death sentence.

Call to Action for Reverend Joy Powell

A call to action to support of Reverend Joy Powell who was recently assaulted by guards and is being denied medical and mental healthcare.

“The ultimate expression of law is not order — it’s prison. There are hundreds upon hundreds of prisons, and thousands upon thousands of laws, yet there is no social order, no social peace….The law and everything that interlocks with it was constructed for … people like me.” – George Jackson

The following details events that occurred yesterday involving a male officer along with several other officers who are frequently accused of verbal and physical assaults of barbaric and terroristic behaviors in his role as a corrections officer. In spite of numerous grievances, resident’s concerns voiced through in-house channels, as well as those complaints lodged by resident’s family and friends to official channels, the violations of both mental and physical assaults persist nonetheless. New York State’s Bedford Hills C.F. was built in 1901, and it’s long history of abuses is undeniable, and even more so is the lack of accountability from its leadership whose salaries are paid by the citizen’s of that state, and those of the United States when one considers the federal subsidies it receives every year but clearly somehow feels it is accountable to that same citizenry.

Case in point yesterday, 11/30/2025 around 10:41am, (EST) Resident Rev. Joy Powell (07G0632) and other residents were taking showers, and they were completely naked as Rev. Powell was exiting the shower when officer Palencia entered unannounced and refused to leave the area. He, in pursuit of another resident, was threatening to mace everyone in the shower area. As already stated, Officer Palencia, whose name comes up frequently, has a reputation as a woman-beater, and is involved in frequent attacks upon the very incarcerated individuals he swore an oath to protect. Rev. Powell, an elder at Bedford Hills, experienced severe anxiety attacks along with others who were also showering due to his behavior. Officer Palencia’s actions violated both facility protocols and DOCCS policies by refusing to announce himself or choose alternative actions (such as requesting aid of a female colleague).

Victim Rev. Joy Powell, in the past, has been assaulted, stalked, even raped, and violated by a former Sergeant who was never charged nor convicted for his crimes against her but was allowed to retire instead. Based on her own previous experiences, this is no joking matter to a victim of institutional abuses, one who has seen such abuses be swept under the rug repeatedly. Bedford Hills C.F. officers sought to close their ranks and concoct stories for their own self-protection, instead of rendering proper aid, including mental and medical health services, to those impacted by their own actions.

The National Guard assigned to the facility attempted to escort victims in question to Mental Health services, yet certain staff immediately made themselves obstructions to this care and instead demeaned and ridiculed those trying to provide basic care. Resident Powell had already suffered injuries to her wrist and arm the day before, which had resulted in them being severely swollen. And yet, officers persisted in wanting to place cuffs on her, thus damaging her wrists further. In fact, as of today they’re still denying her ice to place on injured areas, although policy allows for such.

Supporters have called a phone zap & have provided the following script and numbers to call:

Superintendent Linda Carrington-Allen: (914) 241-3100
DOCCS Darren Miller, Deputy Commissioner/Chief of Investigations: (518) 457-2653, or (518) 457-2653
DOCCS Michael D’Amore, Deputy Commissioner for Correctional Facilities: (518) 457-8138
Governor Kathy Hochul: (518) 474-8390

“I am calling regarding Rev. Joy Powell (#07g0632) and the recent incidents which have occurred at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility over the course of the past 4–5 days. Rev. Joy has suffered repeated injuries, to her wrist and arm, and was denied medical care despite promises from staff, and yesterday other incarcerated individuals, including Rev. Joy were subjected to a traumatic situation were a male officer named Palencia, entered the shower where residents were completely naked and caught off guard.

I demand the following actions without delay:

1. Rev. Joy Powell, receive immediate medical and mental healthcare services,

2. A full investigation into the conduct of National Guard member Johnson and staff Rios, Lopez, Shakel, and Ortiz, and Palencia.

3. Accountability measures be instituted to ensure staff do not retaliate against witnesses or deny medical care in the future.

This situation is a matter of health, safety, and human rights. Please act swiftly to ensure Rev. Powell’s well-being and that of other victims is upheld.

Political Prisoner Updates

George Floyd Uprising Prisoners:

Malik Muhammad

Supporters of 2020 Uprising political prisoner Malik Muhammad have launched a new fundraiser to help provide them ongoing financial support: https://chuffed.org/project/157063-free-malik-now.

Malik has been held in solitary confinement for nearly 250 days. There have been ongoing phone zaps to demand their release.

Malik has also called supporters to write letters to their friend Rio. In Malik’s words,

Rio is like my big brother. Of the people I trust in this world, he’s one of the top. He’s currently in prison on a 15 year sentence for a crime he did not commit. More than that, he’s a poet, rapper, and a revolutionary with BGF origins in East Oakland, California. He’s a mentor. Currently, he’s also in the hole right now, though in Two Rivers Correctional Institution.

If you have the capacity, he’s looking for:

People who can send and discuss books with him. He’s looking at Black Anarchism.
To have platforms for him to get his political writings and poems out.
Someone who can set up a GoFundMe for him to raise money for an appeal’s lawyer.

“Honor” Waznt Meant

Everyday I’m thinkin’ of a new plot. Even if it ain’t me, one of my people got to make it to the top. I done did some fucked up shit in my life, that’z true, at least I can admit it, who are you. East Oakland California if don’t nobody notice it’z still poverty. Crooked azz police, killaz, dealer pimps, hoez, fiendz, robbers, scammers, artist, that’s all you see, ain’t no babies or kids playin’ in the park here. We need change. But we lost, so we start where? Black Panther Party, East Oakland, it started here, Huey P. Newton lost hiz life in the dark here. Fuck the police & the system of the government that’s who should be our enemy, they ain’t here to help us Black, white, asian, Hispanic. We all the targets, you & me. How can I believe in some shit that keep our people trapped, they only trippin’ when we sellin’ drugs kuz they can’t get a tax, they only trippin’ on me pimpin’ kuz they can’t get a tax. Pay off on porn and say they ain’t pimpin’, they get a tax, pay off for the drugs they make and sell out they pharmacies. But say they ain’t drug dealers. Some people ain’t open they mind to this government we waz born in. So after I tell thiz and keep preachin’ to the people then that’z on them. I met the most beautiful people while I waz in jail. It ain’t uz it’z the government that failed. So I say it again, fuck the police & the government. If I got to die bowin’ down to them, then it wazn’t meant.

Honor is action, integrity guiding principals on that structure of beliefs and the decisions we apply in our day to day movement. Everyday. And don’t trade or compromise those beliefz. EVER! For “ANYTHING”!

Prairieland Defendants

The state has seriously escalated repression over the now 18 people facing charges from the immigrant solidarity demonstration at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center on July 4, 2025. Under the new “domestic terrorism” orders targeting “antifa.”

The DFW Support Committee has reported that after 12 more defendants were federally indicted under new charges, including rioting, attempted murder, and material support for terrorism, with federal prosecutors offering early plea deals recommending sentences of up to 15 years in prison, 9 defendants plead guilty.

Fortunately, 9 defendants––Savanna Batten, Zachary Evetts, Autumn Hill, Meagan Morris, Maricela Rueda, Daniel “Des” Rolando Sanchez Estrada, Benjamin Song, Elizabeth Soto, and Ines Soto––plead not guilty, refusing to collaborate against their co-defendants, fighting their bogus, politically-motivated charges, and taking their cases to trial.

According to a recent statement by the DFW Support Committee,

“The superseding indictment makes unproven claims, mischaracterizes facts, and takes quotes out of context,” said Stephanie Shiver, wife of defendant Meagan Morris. “Claims of adherence to a political ideology like anti-fascism, whether true or not, are not grounds to charge someone with terrorism and do not belong in an indictment,” continued Shiver. “By associating the Prairieland case with Antifa, the government is using terrorism charges to spread fear and intimidation, and to carry out sweeping political repression.”

Prejudicial statements related to these cases have been made repeatedly by officials at the highest levels of government, undermining the defendants’ ability to get a fair trial. The Trump administration has publicly claimed that the Prairieland case is the first legal case against Antifa, while Trump declared Antifa a domestic terrorist organization. On September 25, the White House released the National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 (NSPM-7), which ordered all federal law enforcement agencies to prioritize combating Antifa as a domestic terrorism threat. FBI director Kash Patel has called the Prairieland defendants “Antifa-aligned anarchist violent extremists,” sharing Fox News coverage of the case on X.

Yet, supporters are refuting the claims of terrorism and planned violence. “As the Prairieland case progresses, it looks more and more like a protest case involving people expressing solidarity with detained immigrants,” said Amber Lowrey, sister of defendant Savanna Batten. “The federal government is trying to reframe protest activity as terrorism, and we’re seeing this attempted across the country, from Chicago to Portland, and now here in Dallas-Fort Worth.”

Federal arraignments for defendants who refused plea deals were held on December 3, and sentencing hearings for those who took the plea deals will be held at the Ft. Worth Federal Courthouse on March 12 and March 19.

The DFW Support Committee has announced that they’ve raised enough money to hire a successful federal defense attorney for one of the defendants. They’re hoping to raise at least $15,000 beyond what they have left so they can retain more attorneys for other defendants. This is especially important given that the federal trials are set to begin on January 5, 2026.

The ongoing fundraiser is available at https://www.givesendgo.com/supportdfwprotestors

On December 9, WordPress.com suspended the website for the DFW Support Committee for alleged terms of services agreement violations: a new site has been launched on Noblogs.

Free Des!

Supporters of Des Revol––anarchist, artist, and immigrant being held on ICE hold after bogus charges relating to allegedly moving a box of zines––were heartbroken after Des was released from prison and told that his charges were dismissed which in a cruel twist was a “clerical error,” and now Des is back in custody after voluntarily surrendering himself at FMC Fort Worth surrounded by supporters.

Read the Free Des press release about the cruel events.

Des also released a public statement on December 4:

Hello! First of all. All honor and glory to creator for granting me the miracle of being here.

My name is Daniel Sanchez “Des,” and I’ve lived in the Dallas–Fort Worth area most of my life. I have been incarcerated in a federal facility about 5 months since July 6.

I want to be very clear. I did not participate. I was not aware nor did I have any knowledge about the events that transpired on July 4 outside the Prairieland Detention Center. Despite not having any knowledge or not having been near the area at all, I was violently arrested at gunpoint for allegedly making a “wide turn.” My feeling is that I was only arrested because I’m married to Mari Rueda, who is being accused of being at the noise demo showing support to migrants who are facing deportation under deplorable conditions. For this accusation, she’s being threatened with a life sentence in prison.

My charge is allegedly having a box containing magazine “zines,” books, and artwork. Items that are in the possession of millions of people in the United States. Items that are available free online, and available to purchase at stores and online even at places like Amazon. Items that should be protected under the First Amendment “freedom of speech.” If this is happening to me now, it’s only a matter of time before it happens to you.

I believe there’s been almost 20 people arrested in supposed relation to this public noise demo. More than half of those were arrested days later despite not being in the area and are now facing a slew of outrageous charges, in what seems like a political persecution to instill fear on people exercising their First Amendment right.

On November 2 around 9 a.m. while still in federal custody, I was suddenly ordered to pack all of my property, rushing me and refusing to let me know where I was going. I began to think the worst: that I was being moved away from loved ones for no reason other than to continue to put pressure on me to sign a plea agreement for something I didn’t do. Later on, I was told my charges had been dismissed and I was being released. But since I didn’t hear from my lawyer, I thought they were messing with me. Two hours later, I was being walked out of the prison with no paperwork. It felt like psychological torture, the anxiety, the uncertainty. I imagined they would just wait for me to walk out to arrest me again somehow.

The last few days have been very surreal, and it’s been a roller coaster of emotions. The fear and anxiety that they would raid my loved ones again or try to add more fictitious charges. To the love, joy, and laughter of seeing my family and hugging them one more time after the trauma we all endured. It’s a blessing, and we celebrated my birthday, Xmas, and New Years in one night.

I’m not a violent person. I love people and animals, walking in nature, making art, reading, cooking vegan food for people, teaching kids, and doing fundraisers for people and animals that need help. I co-parent a really cool stepdaughter who is amazing and super funny, and tragically, is now having to live without two of her most important adults, [me and Mari,] who were abruptly taken away from her. I’m thankful for everyone showing her and my family love and care while we overcome this tragic situation.

This has been a confusing, bittersweet moment, embracing my loved ones, just to be taken away from them again. The charges I and others are facing are scary, and I would be lying if I said I’m not scared. I love this country and the promise of freedom of speech, justice, equity, and the pursuit of happiness. I’m not hiding. I’m not fleeing. And obvious I’ve never been a danger to the community. I’m turning myself in for trial because I’m innocent.

With a desire for a world full of love, kindness, empathy, equity, and freedom. Like in sunflowers breaking through concrete. Like butterflies flying freely. Under the same moon. I will continue to walk with dignity. I have faith and living hope in my heart.

Thank you all for the support. I can feel all of your love. I’m beyond grateful for every letter, poem, book, donation, and every prayer.

Honor creator and all existence.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
No one is free, until all are free.
Blessings.

Jeff Fort

A call for executive clemency and medical transfer for political prisoner Jeff Fort who was hospitalized last month at Florence ADX where he has been incarcerated for the past 19 years. Last month Black Power Media posted “The Truth About Jeff Fort” discussion with Jeff’s daughter LaTonya Fort and Fred Hampton Jr.

Urgent Call for Medical Transfer and Executive Clemency as Decades of Extreme Solitary Confinement Take Toll on Elderly Prisoner

DENVER, COLORADO — Jeff Fort, a 78-year-old federal prisoner who has spent 19 years in extreme solitary confinement at ADX Florence—the federal Bureau of Prisons’ most restrictive facility—was recently hospitalized following a sudden medical emergency that left him unconscious in his cell with a head injury.

Around October 19, 2025, Mr. Fort experienced an abrupt blackout with no warning signs, falling from a standing position and striking his head on the concrete floor of his cell. Correctional officers found him unconscious and disoriented. He was rushed by ambulance, where he underwent extensive emergency diagnostic testing, including CT scans, blood work, and cardiograms at a local hospital. This incident has raised grave concerns about his deteriorating health and the risks posed by his continued confinement under extreme isolation at ADMAX.

A Pattern of Deteriorating Health
Mr. Fort experiences ongoing difficulty breathing during the day and shortness of breath at night. He has a documented history of blackout episodes dating back to 2006-2007, typically with warning signs that allowed him to protect himself—but this recent incident provided no such opportunity. He also struggles with CPAP therapy and has experienced significant weight loss—dropping to approximately 180-185 pounds, which is likely linked to dental issues and delays in receiving dentures that make eating difficult.

The Inhumanity of Extreme Solitary Confinement for the Elderly
Mr. Fort has been incarcerated for nearly 40 years and has spent the last 19 years in near-total isolation at ADX Florence, one of the harshest detention facilities in the United States. At 78 years old, he is among a vulnerable elderly population for whom prolonged solitary confinement poses particularly severe risks.
Research consistently demonstrates that extended solitary confinement has devastating effects on physical and mental health, effects that are dramatically amplified for elderly prisoners. Long-term isolation accelerates cognitive decline, exacerbates chronic medical conditions, and increases mortality risk—particularly for individuals like Mr. Fort who suffer from cardiovascular issues, respiratory problems, and other age-related conditions.

Mr. Fort’s legal team, led by attorney Jenipher R. Jones, with independent medical advisor Dr. Barbara Zeller, is actively pursuing multiple avenues for relief. “The combination of advanced age, serious medical issues including fainting spells and breathing difficulties, significant weight loss, and 19 years of extreme isolation creates an unconscionable situation,” stated Jenipher R. Jones, Esq., Mr. Fort’s attorney with For the People, LLC. “Keeping a nearly 80-year-old man under these conditions is medically dangerous. We look forward to working with the Bureau of Prisons to improve this situation.”

About Jeff Fort
Jeff Fort, now 78 years old, was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi on February 20, 1947. He has been incarcerated since 1981 and transferred to ADX Florence in 2006, where he has remained in extreme solitary confinement. Despite the harsh conditions, Mr. Fort has maintained a near spotless disciplinary record, completed over 100 educational courses, and has been housed in the facility’s “honor unit” for well-behaved inmates. His daughter, Ms. LaTonya Fort, a nurse, faithfully and tirelessly tends to her father’s well-being.

Zolo Azania

Bloomington Anarchist Black Cross recently shared a call to materially support Black Liberation Elder Zolo Azania. His birthday is also soon, December 12!

Peace and Power

I started writing Zolo around 2014, when he had already been in prison for over 30 years. I was honored to be there on the day he was released in February 2017, after decades of hard work by Zolo himself, the People’s Law Office, legendary Indiana lawyer Jesse Cook, and a Chicago based support team. Zolo grew up in Gary Indiana and became involved with the Black Liberation Army. He was charged for an incident in which a Gary police officer was killed. Zolo was on death row twice before finally winning his release.

After being imprisoned in facilities across the state, Zolo returned to Gary where he lives now. He is an artist and writer and is dedicated to helping others, running a re-entry circle for the formerly incarcerated and their loved ones, and doing paralegal work using the expertise he learned when he was fighting for his life. He wants to help others who the state is trying its best to execute.

Zolo still needs our support. He has not been able to create a single painting and has only written a few essays in the last 7 years because he has had to work shitty jobs for shitty companies even now that he is 70 years old. The horrible truth is that he was able to more creative, and in some ways more involved in freedom struggles while he was locked up. We cannot let this continue. We are asking individuals and organizations across the state of Indiana to sign up for his Patreon to support a sort of “revolutionary retirement.” We have it set up at $10 a month, but you can do more. If you can only do a one-time donation, or a smaller monthly amount, please reach out. I know there are a lot of people suffering right now, and that notbeing able to contribute to freedom struggles due to having to work all th time to survive is true for many, many people. From Zolo:

Peace and Power.

On 06 February 2017, i was “FREED” (Released) from prison, after literally 35 and a half (6 months) years of captivity; more than 27 of those years were spent on Indiana’s death row. i use the word “freed” because it was beautiful people like you who supported me in my struggles and determination not to be murdered by the State or having to spend the rest of what was left of my life withering away in prison. i was, (and still am) happy and grateful. Thank you for being you. But since i’ve been home i have not made or painted one picture; and since my release i have written only three (3) essays. i began to write a couple of books, one of them is my autobiography. While in prison i produced more work than that in a week. But after nearly 10-years of freedom on the outside of the cyclone fences, constantine wire and concrete walls, i’ve done little of nothing but worked like a slave in someone’s else warehouses and other businesses like the railroad. Like the vast majority of people toiling for a wage in this “rat-race” conditions of Ours to pay a bully named “Bills.”

There is an old popular rhythm and blues song titled, “Sittin’ On The Dock of the Bay” written and sung by the late great Otis Redding. It is an emotional heartfelt song about introspection, reflection and longing. He was deeply inspired by the many quiet hours in retreat on a houseboat while in California. Otis Redding used to sit quietly watching the various ships floating on the water and plowing through the waves in and out the San Francisco bay. He started writing the lyrics there and the basic idea of watching the ferry boats, based on his keen observations while in deep contemplation. He had come to a crossroads–reminising about his lowly humble beginnings to the meteoric rise in his life as a singer and successful entertainer–and he put in to words the feelings he felt what this picturesque metaphor must have meant to him. Shortly thereafter Otis Redding began recording the song in the studio but he died in an airplane crash in 1967, before it was completed.

i was 13-years old then. To-day, 2025, i am 70-years old, and like Otis Redding i, too, am at a “crossroads” in my life. And it doesn’t seem that i will be able to retire from working for the imperalist increasing their already bloated, exploitative, blood-sucking profits.

i need a rich patron to support my artistic endeavors. If they would support me out of guilt, or some contrived compassion, or change of heart, it doesn’t matter much to me at this point.

It’s a serious trying dilemma and, again, i need your help. Moreover, my dilemma is compounded by the fact that on June 05, 2025, i got fired (terminated) from my job at REMPREX, inc., an intermodal transportation subcontractor company, for wrecking a “Hostler Truck,” but the damage was minor and the steel plate on top of the cage, in front of the Def (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank, right behind the exhaust stack-pipe, was fixed right away. Nevertheless, i was terminated for endangering myself and others causing an “egregious” crash. i hit an unmoving “goose” neck of a chassis; no damage to the chassis.

The recent political atmosphere in the 106 Norfork Southern Calumet railyard was heighthen when REMPREX, Inc., contract was not renewed due to late out-bound trains not being loaded on time and N. S. (Norfolk Southern) railyard allegedly lost profits. So i’m being used as a convenient scapegoat or “fall-guy.” i am fighting this case through the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union, Local #710. A trial-like panel hearing date is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 June, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Mokena. Illinois.
i filed a written grievance and requested the panel to reinstate my employment and, in addition, that i suffer no financial losses.

Alfredo Cospito

A Call for International Solidarity with Alfredo Cospito has been shared as Alfredo faces a renewal of his imprisonment in the punitive and harsh “41 Bis” regime. This regime today imprisons more than 700 people, including revolutionaries such as members of the BR-PCC.

Alfredo’s four year sentence under the 41 Bis regime expires in May 2026. Before signing a renewal, the Minister of Justice will consult the anti-mafia and anti-terrorist services. Alfredo’s supporters are calling for mobilizations to prevent a renewal. Sentenced to 23 years in prison in the “Scripta Manent” trial, Cospito launched a hunger strike in 2022 for six months to denounce this regime of solitary confinement. Despite a strong solidarity movement, his demands weren’t met, but the Constitutional Court allowed him to avoid a mandatory life sentence. At the same time as several countries like France are seeking to reproduce the 41 Bis model, his supporters are calling for solidarity with Cospito as an integral part of the struggle against prison in Europe.

NO COMRADE WILL BE LEFT ALONE IN THE HANDS OF REPRESSION!

Alfredo Cospito is an anarchist comrade jailed since 2012, initially arrested and sentenced (along with another comrade) for kneecapping the CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare. He has served his sentence for that crime (the other comrade is now free), but he is currently serving a 23-year sentence issued in the “Scripta Manent” trial. This was a repressive operation against 20 years of FAI/FRI actions. Comrade Anna Beniamino is also serving a 17-year sentence for this repressive operation.

In May 2022, he was placed in 41 bis, a “harsh prison” regime invented in the ’90s to psychologically annihilate mafia “chiefs” and force them to cooperate. It is now extended to over 700 prisoners, including members of revolutionary groups such as BR-PCC. In October 2022, Alfredo began a six-month hunger strike against the 41-bis regime and life sentences without parole, his likely fate according to the terrorism and political massacre charges (and the prosecutor’s request), which essentially amounts to a death sentence while alive. He chose to risk his life because fighting until his last breath was worth it rather than being sentenced to the “tomb of the living,” which is precisely 41 bis.

A huge mobilization supported his struggle and gained incredible resonance, especially thanks to widespread international actions. For the first time in Italy, this “untouchable” anti-Mafia tool was publicly questioned. His hunger strike ended in April 2023 without most of his requests being met. However, he finally avoided life imprisonment after his case was brought to the Constitutional Court.

Now, three years later, 41 bis is increasingly a model for repression in the EU and beyond. Both Chile and, more recently, the Netherlands are adopting this torture tool in their prison systems. As Alfredo stated in his latest communiqué in court during a January 2025 trial:

“If the imperialist war of the West spills over from Ukraine’s borders and reaches our doorsteps, if social conflicts surpass the sustainable limit of a fragile system, or if a gradual transition to a regime is not feasible, 41bis, with its veneer of legality, will be the ideal tool for forced social anesthetization. It will be a kind of castor oil to bring recalcitrant elements into line—a gradual coup d’état in accordance with the law. This would explain why an emergency regime is needed in the absence of a real emergency.”

Alfredo’s four-year 41bis term will expire in May 2026. Before signing the expected two-year renewal, the Minister of Justice will hear the opinions of the Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism departments. It is worth noting that Minister Carlo Nordio recently played a key role in the swift and sudden release and repatriation of Al-Masri, who was arrested in Italy on the orders of the International Criminal Court. This move could be interpreted as a sign of gratitude for his outstanding work on behalf of the Italian government in torture camps for migrants in Libya.

We have nothing to ask nor hope for from the state. In fact, we are its enemies, and it treats us as such. In recent years, several trials have begun against comrades accused of participating in the mobilization in various ways. This demonstrates once again that one of the main aims of repression is to attack solidarity. This should not cause us to withdraw but rather provide an opportunity for a new beginning. We want to continue the struggle with Alfredo against the prison regime that has him locked up so that he knows, despite his total isolation, that his comrades are there and will not leave him alone.

However, we also want it for ourselves. We conceive of active and combative solidarity with prisoners as an integral part of the perspectives and projects we develop toward anarchy and against the prison society in which we all live.

Solidarity knows no boundaries or nations.
Let’s take up the weapon of solidarity!

Daniela Klette

The trial of Daniela Klette, a former alleged member of the Red Army Faction (RAF), took an unexpected turn when the Verden court accepted the prosecution’s request to drop five charges due to a lack of reliable testimony after decades.

This decision could bring forward the end of the trial to spring 2026, whereas hearings were initially scheduled to continue until the fall of that year. Since March 2025, Klette has been on trial for a series of attacks committed between 1999 and 2016, but the prosecution acknowledges that elderly or ill witnesses can no longer clearly recall the events, and that their memories are sometimes influenced by the media or other testimonies.

This reduction in charges also aims to expedite the proceedings, as new charges are expected to be filed in 2026. The federal justice system is indeed preparing a second trial, this time for actions attributed to the RAF in the early 1990s, including attacks against the American embassy in Bonn, the Weiterstadt prison, and a Deutsche Bank data center. This new trial is expected in the fall of 2026.

Lucas & Aldo Hernandez

On Monday, November 3rd, the trial against Aldo and Lucas Hernandez came to an end, with both being sentenced to 21 and 12 years in prison, respectively, after more than three months of hearings, in which the authorities attempted to use all their power to achieve an exemplary punishment for both brothers.

On July 21st of this year, amid protests and multiple solidarity actions, the lengthy trial against Aldo and Lucas Hernandez began at the Center for (In)Justice in Santiago. The prosecution, made up of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Chilean Gendarmerie, initially demanded intolerably excessive sentences, ranging from 20 years in prison for Lucas to 90 years in prison for Aldo Hernandez.

Subsequently, after the verdict was read on October 3, the prosecutors requested a sentence of 32 years and 1,100 days for Aldo and a sentence of 18 years and 800 days for Lucas, while Aldo’s defense requested a sentence of 26 years and Lucas’s defense requested a sentence of 12 years. Finally, on November 3, Aldo was sentenced to 21 years and Lucas to 12 years.

The sentences, set out in a document of more than 400 pages, referred to three incidents: 1) the attack on the General Directorate of the Gendarmerie in December 2021; 2) the raid on a residence in Loncura; and 3) the raid on a residence in La Victoria.

Aldo Hernandez was found guilty of the attack on the Gendarmerie Headquarters but acquitted of the crimes of minor injuries to prison guards and the crime of receiving stolen goods. He was also found guilty in relation to the items found in the raid on Loncura (incident 2) but was acquitted of all the crimes he was charged with in relation to the raid on the home in La Victoria (incident 3). Lucas, for his part, was convicted of most of the crimes related to the residence in the La Victoria neighborhood, but was acquitted of the crimes of manufacturing weapons and manufacturing explosive devices.

Nikos Romanos

After his sentencing in 2013 for armed actions claimed as part of his anarchist commitments, Nikos Romanos has been regularly imprisoned and has already served several prison sentences. In December 2025, a Greek judge rejected his release request and approved the extension of his sentence with six extra months. His supporters have denounced this decision and call for increased solidarity.

As excerpts from a recent article calling for solidarity states,

Few people in the anarchist movement here have been under as heavy surveillance, long-term, as the comrade Nikos Romanos. He was a friend of the anarchist Alexis Grigoropolous, and witnessed Alexis’ murder by police on 6 December 2008. Since that time Nikos has been arrested many times and accused of many crimes, along with false accusations of involvement with the direct action group Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Because Nikos is a living witness to the shameful conduct of the state, he has been labeled a terrorist by politicians and the mass media many times over. Of their many accusations, however, the only crime the judiciary has ever pinned on him is a bank robbery, for which he served a prison sentence. During the time he was imprisoned, Nikos went on hunger strike for 31 days to (successfully) demand access to education, something he was entitled to under law but which the state had refused him. His steadfastness in this matter inspired solidarity actions throughout Greece and internationally, and is still well remembered.

Again, there are few people in Greece as relentlessly surveilled as Nikos, which made it all the more absurd that he was arrested on 18 November and accused of unspecified involvement in the explosion, on the basis of the state claiming to have discovered a single fingerprint from him on a trash bag “found” in the destroyed apartment.

Some or all of the above you may already know. The purpose of this piece is to contextualize the arrest and repression of Nikos in Greece’s overall economic collapse and the scandals of the Greek state’s ruling party, New Democracy, as well as to condemn those who respond to the greek state’s abuse of Nikos with gleeful excitement (because they anticipate spectacular resistance) and those who promote state narratives about Nikos, including the lie– proven to be a lie in court! — that he was involved in the group Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Nikos has been put through hell by the state for nearly his entire life, from the horror of watching his childhood friend murdered in front of his eyes to years of repression, intimidation, violence, false accusations and imprisonment. Anyone who repeats the state and state-media slanders about Nikos, using buzzwords like “terrorist” or breathlessly associating him with guerrilla groups he wasn’t involved in, is promoting the state’s narrative and serving the greek state’s agenda.

On 22 November, the state used the flimsy pretext of the fingerprint to imprison Nikos more or less indefinitely, pre-trial, furthering the outrage. Even some of the right-wing TV talking heads were at a loss to explain this, which only provides (additional) evidence that the supposedly impartial judiciary of Greece is no more than a weapon of the ruling class, in this case of Prime Minister Mitsotakis and New Democracy.

Nikos is being held under article 187A, an antiterrorism statute passed by the “progressive” socialist government previous to new democracy. The excuse for 187A at the time was that it was necessary to prosecute Golden Dawn, a neo-fascist organization– but it wasn’t used for that. Instead, we see in the detention of Nikos the penal code’s true purpose. All state tools of “anti-extremism,” including those that claim to be protection from fascists or to repress the far right, will end up used against anarchists.

Article 187A, which applies to terrorist organizations, states that a terrorist organization must be at least three people. So, we have the martyr Kyriakos, the injured Marianna… and because the state needed a third, like magic, they discover a bag with a fingerprint and kidnap Nikos.

Let us reject not only the continued abuse of Nikos Romanos and other prisoners by the state, but the state’s narratives and slanders.

As has been said elsewhere, “May Athens get the December it deserves”

Algeria

Imprisoned Algerian Poet Mohamed Tadjadit Launches Hunger Strike

The Algerian poet Mohamed Tadjadit, an emblem of the Hirak protests who has been detained since January, launched a hunger strike in November to denounce his prison conditions. Sentenced on November 11 to five years in prison on charges of “supporting terrorism,” he will appear before the courts again on November 30 with charges of “conspiracy seeking to incite citizens against the state,” and possibly face the death sentence––although Algeria  hasn’t carried out any executions since 1993. Tadjadit will be judged along with 12 other militants, while international calls for his release proliferate.

Argentina

A Mapuche Leader Will Remain in Detention until His Trial

A leader of the Mapuche community, Juan Pablo Colhuan, will remain in preventive detention until his trial planned for March 2026 for “usurpation,” a charge that, in Argentine law, refers to illegal occupation of land or ownership of property without a legitimate title. Arrested in October after three years on the run, Colhuan was captured in the Chubut province while traveling to the province where his family lives. The courts refused to release him on bail because of the duration of his time underground. He demands, however, to be transferred from the Rawson high security prison to a medium security unit in Esquel, a transfer which was granted by the judge but is still waiting to be accepted by the federal prison service.

Belgium

Fighting Racism and Repression in Belgium: Husam Is Free after 50 Days in Detention

In Belgium, Husam, a Palestinian imprisoned after a protest, has been released after 50 days in an immigration center once he received refugee status.

Arrested on 29th of September after the daily protest at the bourse, Husam has spent 50 days in a closed detention center. His arrest was part of a broader wave of repression against the Palestine solidarity movement in Belgium. Husam was among eleven Palestinians violently arrested, of whom eight were taken to closed detention centers despite being in ongoing asylum processes.

Out of the eight Palestinians who were arrested and taken to closed detention centers, only Fathi Alhams, Ali Abu Taha and Mahmoud Abu Hadayed remain. Two others, Anas and Hamouda, have been deported to Greece, while Mahmoud Faraj Allah died a martyr within the walls of the closed detention center 127bis in Steenokkerzeel.

The use of closed detention centers and threat of deportation continues the Arizona coalition’s aim to ‘institute the strictest migration policy ever’, expanding on previous governments’ persecution of undocumented migrants. Using a combination of new laws, policies, and unlawful police interventions, this has led to a severe increase in expulsions of squats for undocumented migrants, the expansion of detention centers, increased deportations, and continuous flagrant violations of the right to asylum.

Let there be no mistake. The politicians behind this policy, the bureaucrats who keep it in place, and the police who enforce it, are all directly responsible for the violence of the last months. From the death of Mahmoud Ezzat Farag Allah, to the violent expulsion of 70 undocumented migrants from Zone Neutre.

While we celebrate the release of Husam, we will not stop mobilizing until Fathi, Ali and Mahmoud are freed.

We will not stop taking to the streets until every single closed detention center has been dismantled, and the Belgian state abandon its persecution of undocumented migrants.

We will not rest until we get justice for Mahmoud, Fabian, Christophe, Sourour, Mehdi, Imad, Adel, Sabrina, Ouassim, and everyone else murdered by the racist and violent Belgian state.

Ni oubli, ni pardon — we do not forget or forgive.

Arrest and Detention After Arson of Police Vehicles.

On the night of November 10, 2025 in Ixelles, a person named T was arrested and accused of attempting to set three police cars on fire. A judge opened an investigation against him for the night-time arson and a search warrant lead to the seizure of many of their belongings and various documents. T was served an arrest warrant and transferred to Haren prison on November 12, after which he was granted bail while the investigation continues.

Bahrain

Leftist Leader Ibrahim Sharif Detained

On Friay, November 7, in Beirut, Bahraini leftist leader Ibrahim Sharif participated in the 34th session of the Arab National Conference with the participation of more than 250 Arab figures including the Lebanese communist Georges Abdallah and PFLP leader and Palestinian feminist Mariam Abu Daqqa. After his return and his arrival to the Manama airport, he was arrested under the pretext of spreading “false information on social networks and making offensive remarks about brotherly Arab countries and their leaders.” He has been detained for a week pending investigation. In 2011, he had been arrested and detained for his alleged role in the popular uprising that swept Bahrain then released in June 2015 following an international solidarity campaign. Moreover, he was the secretary of the National Democratic Action Society (Wa’ad), a secular leftist party dissolved by the Bahraini courts in May 2017.

Brazil

Arrest of Lawyer Lenir Correai

The arrest of popular lawyer Lenir Correai on November 12 2025 in Ji-Paraná is part of an escalation of repression targeting defenders of rural workers and struggles for basic rights in Rondônia. This operation, part of the broader “Operation Godos” targeting the League of Poor Peasants, criminalizes the legal work of a lawyer defending families engaged in land disputes. Several organizations have denounced this as an attack against the right to legal defense, all the more grave since Lenir Correai suffers health problems incompatible with detention. This case is part of a context of violent conflicts between peasants and security forces since 2020, marked by deaths, controversial police operations, and a strengthened alliance between rural sectors and armed forces.

Three People Arrested as Part of an Anti-Terrorist Investigation

Three people were arrested on Tuesday December 2 in the Bastia region as part of a judicial investigation into “criminal conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism,” an operation waged by the Anti-Terrorist Sub-Directorate. These arrests were linked to the distribution of pamphlets by the Corscian National Liberation front (FLNC) during a student meeting in Corte on February 28, 2024, where two individuals in balaclavas called to continue the “national liberation struggle” and to join “underground action.” This episode, which occurred during wider political discussions on Corsican autonomy and the two year anniversary of the death of Yvan Colonna, triggered an investigation into “supporting terrorism.”

Reports of Torture of Venezuelan Prisoners

In March, the US government deported more than 200 Venezuelan men to a high security prison in El Salvador. The New York Times interviewed 40 of them: they described being beaten, sexually assaulted by guards, and pushed to the brink of suicide. A team of independent medical analysts examined their testimony and judged them to be coherent and credible, believing that must of the acts described correspond to the definition of torture according to the UN. These reports highlight the responsibility of authorities involved in this violent deportation policy by ICE.

The Life of Zehra Kurtay Is in Danger after 157 Days on Hunger Strike

Zehra Kurtay has been on an open-ended hunger strike since July 3, 2023 to protest against threats of deportation and to demand political asylum. On December 5, 2025 she has been on hunger strike for 157 days and her health has gravely deteriorated, with her weight dropping to 83 pounds. Medical observations have revealed a sharp decline in muscle reserves, fatigue, and life-threatening complications. Her supporters are demaning the immediate repeal of deportation threats and the granting of refugee status, calling for urgent intervention to guarantee her life and her rights.

Pro-Palestinian Activist on Trial in Lyon for “Supporting Terrorism”

On December 10, 2025, Yamin Makri will be tried in Lyon for “supporting terrorism,” after sharing articles on the situation in Palestine and Palestinian organizations in 2022. The same day, he will also appear in court for putting up posters depcting wounded children in Gaza with three other people. They are charged with disseminating images of crimes without the authorization of the people involved. These two cases, for which he risks five years in prison and 75,000 euros in restitution, are accompanied by strict measures during the trial: bank accounts blocked, a ban on social media, and weekly check-ins at the police station, even though Yamin Makri has never been in trouble with the law before. The 69 Support Collective for the Palestinian People has called for a demonstration on Wednesday December 10 at 1 PM in front of the Lyon Judicial Court to support him.

Courts Continue to Prosecute Former Political Prisoner from Action Directe Jean-Marc Rouillan

The Supreme Court of France has upheld Jean-Marc Rouillan’s eight month prison sentence for remarks described as “supporting terrorism,” despite a ruling by CEDH in 2022 that the prior sentence for the same offense was disproportionate. By upholding this sentence, the French courts are openly deviating from European case law, a situation that the militant’s lawyer denounces as a “juridical heresy” and which has led him to file a new appeal with the CEDH. This case is part of a more general cliamte of intensifying repression, where the charge of “supporting terrorism” is increasingly being used to target supporters of the Palestinian cause, as witnessed by the proceedings against numerous activists, including the spokesperson for Urgence Palestine, Omar Alsoumi.

The European Court of Human Rights (CEDH) Condemns France for Mistreatment of Basque Prisoner Juan Ibon Fernandez Iradi

The European Court of Human Rights (CEDH) has condemned France for violating Article 3 of the Convention on Human Rights (forbidding inhuman or degrading treatment), ruling that the authorities haven’t provided adequate medical care to the presumed former military leader of the ETA, Juan Ibon Fernandez Iradi, who has been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 2011. The Court, which ruled the medical care provided was late and inadequate, especially regarding nuerological monitoring, awarded Fernandez Iradi, who is now imprisoned in Spain, 10,000 euros in damages.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 14 fascists armed with clubs tried to block a demonstration of several hundred people on the Grande Rue in Nancy. Observed by the nearby police, depite their obvious weapons, they beat and injured several protestors before hiding behind the police line. These events were widely reported in the media. Afterwards, three anti-fascists were arrested, detained, and prosecuted. They are accused of opposing several far right activists. A first hearing of their trial was scheduled for December 13, 2024 but was postponed due to adminsitrative issues. Nearly a year later, they appeared in court on November 17. A solidarity demonstration was organized at 6 PM in front of the Cité judiciare on Rue de Général Fabvier in Nancy.

Anarchist Political Prisoner Dimitris Chatzivasieliadis Releases a Statement in Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoner Anan Yaeesh

On November 28 2025, the Palestinian activist Anan Yaeesh, who was a political prisoner in occupied Palestine, will be tried by the Italian state. He is accused, without evidence, of collaborating with the Tulkarm Brigades (West Bank), an organisation linked to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed group of Fateh that resists the occupation. The EU is fighting on the front lines of the Zionist occupation with all means at its disposal. Comrade Anan stated: “You want me to defend myself against the accusations against me, but I am ashamed to seek acquittal on charges that, for me, represent a source of honor. I do not want to defend myself against the accusation of having rights and having claimed them, or of having tried to liberate my people and my country from colonial oppression. I swear that I have no intention of being acquitted of the legitimate resistance against the Zionist occupation. The Palestinian resistance is one of the noblest phenomena known to history”.

I express my respect for the memory of the two martyrs of the self-sacrificing attack on an Israeli settlement south of Bethlehem on November 18. As the Al-Shahid Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine wrote in their tribute, “Our pledge is eternal revenge that does not fade. Tomorrow, fog will clear from hills”

Call for Solidarity with Imprisoned Squatters

On December 2, 2025, the appeals trial of several members of the Koukaki squatters community, emblematic of the anarchist movement in the Greek capitol, began in Athens. Founded between 2017 and 2020, this community occupied three buildings that offered a space for collective life in a neighborhood being fully gentrified. After waves of eviction by the police between 2018 and 2020, squatters were sentenced to six and a half years in prison, an uprecedented sentence in Greece for this kind of action. With the anouncement of the appeals trial and the significant stakes surrounding it, supporters of the prisoners are calling for financial soliarity to cover the legal costs which amount to 25,000 euros.

Update from the Three Days of Soliarity Event and the Court of Appeal of the Koukaki Squats Community Matrozou 45 in Athens

Information from the Court of Appeal of of the Koukaki Squats Community Matrozou 45 in Athens

NO SQUATTER IN PRISON
SOLIDARITY WITH THE KOUKAKI SQUAD COMMUNITY
WE DEFEND OUR OCCUPATIONS AND OUR RELATIONSHIPS

The gathering consisted of about 250 people, slogans were shouted and banners were hung outside the building. The trial has been postponed to April 30, 2026.

On Sunday November 30, the three-day solidarity campaign for the (re)occupation of Matrozou 45 was completed, in awaiting the appeals court, where the comrades face very heavy sentences. All the events of the three-days were supported by a large crowd, which makes us walk towards tomorrow with high morale, knowing that nothing ends – the struggle continues. From Friday’s live event, which, despite the closure of ASSOE and the change of venue, took place as normal, gathering a large crowd, to Saturday’s march in the Koukaki neighbourhood – with the participation of over 400 people – to Sunday’s packed event in Navarinou Park in Exarxeia area where squats from all over Greece were present, the three-day event was full of pulse and signals of solidarity.

Major Trial Begins against 7 Anti-Fascist Militants in Dresden on November 25, 2025

After being postponed again, the major trial against seven anti-fascist militants in Dresden will begin on November 25, 2025 before the High Regional Court. The trial combines two major aspects of the current wave of repression: on the one hand, charges linked to the “Budapest Affair,” clashes that wounded neo-Nazis on the edges of a fascist rally in Budapest in January 2023, which has already lead to an international man-hunt and severe prison sentences, such as that of the militant Hanna to five years in prison. On the other hand, the defendants are also accused of assaults in several cities in Saxony and Thuringia. At the heart of the case is the use of Article 129 of the German criminal code about “organized crime,” a mechanism regularly  used to criminalize the revolutionary left, to which are added charges such as grevious bodily harm, damage to property, or theft, and even charges of attempted murder already rejected in a preceding trial. With 132 hearings scheduled until the summer of 2027, this trial against Johann, Paul, Henry, Tobias, Thomas, Melissa, and Julian will be one of the biggest trials against anti-fascists in decades.

Solidarity Demonstration for Anti-Fascist Political Prisoner Emmi

India

More than 10,000 Arrests under the UAPA Anti-Terrorist Law Between 2019 and 2023

According to data from the Indian Minstry of the Interior presented to the lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha, more than 10,400 people have been arrested under the UAPA anti-terrorist law between 2019 and 2023, but only 335 have been convicted, revealing a significant gap between arrests and judicial outcomes. The state of Jammu and Kashmir tops the list with 3,662 arrests but only 23 convictions, while Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of convictions (222 out of 2,805 arrests). These figures from the National Crime Records Bureau highlight the political instrumentalization of the UAPA––especially since the 2019 amendment allowing the designation of inividuals as terrorists without specific legal proceedings.

Maoist Prisoner Sanjay Deepak Rao Led Successful 9 Day Hunger Strike

He launched a hunger strike on October 28, emanding that not only him, but also all prisoners in the Manasa and Manjeera units in Cherlapally be authorized to exercise their legal right to freely move through their cell bloc from dawn to dusk. On the ninth day of his hunger strike, the prison authorities indicated that the cells would be opened from 6 AM to 6 PM and that books would be allowed in.

Italy

Severe Charges against Anan Yaeesh, Mansour Doghmosh, and Ali Irar

A hearing took place on November 28 in the Court of L’Aquila as part of a trial targeting three Palestinians accused of participating in the armed resistance in the occupied West bank. One of them, Anan Yaeesh, has been in pre-trial detention since January 2024. The public prosecutor requested very severe sentences: 12 years in prison for Anan Yaeesh, 9 years in prison for Ali Irar, and 7 years in prison for Mansour Doghmosh. If these sentences are granted, it will lead to an intensification of repressive measures against people committed to supporting the Palestinian cuase. In front of the court, a demonstration was organized the same day in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners.

Palestinian Ahmad Salem Has Been Imprisoned for 6 Months

Ahmad Salem, a 24 year old Palestinian born in the refugee camp Al-Baddawi in Lebanon has been imprisoned in Italy for more than 6 months after having called for protests against the genocide in Gaza, for an uprising in the West Bank, and for demonstrations in Lebanon. When he arrived in Italy to request asylum, his telephone was seized during his hearing, and he was accused of “inciting others to comit crime” and “training for terrorism.” The Italian authorities have presented him as a “jihadist,” based on a few phrases taken out of context and videos of the Palestinian resistance already spread by the Italian media. Despite this, Ahmad has been detained in a high security regime in Rossano Calabro while awaiting trial. His lawyers have appealed and are challenging the constitutionality of Article 270 which extends the criminalizaiton of speech. This is not an isolated case, as the situation of Anan Yaeesh, Ali Irar, and Mansour Doghmosh bears witness to.

Palestine

Imprisoned Palestinian Leader Abdullah Barghouti Subjected to Torture and Systematic Abuse in Occupation Prisons

Imprisoned Palestinian leader Abdullah Barghouti — one of the leadership prisoners that the Zionist occupation regime has repeatedly refused to release — is being subjected to severe torture and abuse inside the occupation prisons. As Zionist politicians, including the infamous fascist Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, in charge of the occupation prisons, further their draft “law” for the execution of Palestinian prisoners, they continue to seek to legitimize the existing practice of slow assassination and extrajudicial killing inside the occupation jails.

Imprisoned Palestinian Leader Ahmad Sa’adat Attacked in Isolation by Zionist Guards

Ahmad Sa’adat, the 72-year-old imprisoned Palestinian national leader and General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was beaten by occupation jailers as he was transferred from isolation in Megiddo prison to isolation in Ganot prison. This is the most recent documented incident of torture the Palestinian prisoners’ leadership, following the exposure of the repeated attacks on Abdullah Barghouti, as well as similar assaults on Hassan Salameh, Ahed Abu Ghoulmeh, Ibrahim Hamed, Muammar Shahrour, Abbas al-Sayyed, Marwan Barghouti, Mohammed Arman, Muhannad Shreim., and other prominent imprisoned Palestinians that the Zionist occupation regime refuses to release.

1468 names of Palestinian political prisoners from Gaza: Full list in English

On Sunday, 16 November, the Asra Media Office revealed a list of 1468 Palestinian political prisoners from the Gaza Strip imprisoned by the Zionist occupation regime, noting that this list was received by the office “within the framework of the ceasefire agreement, the exchange deal, and the exchange of information between the Palestinian resistance and the Zionist occupation, and based on communication that took place through intermediaries and lasted for more than a month.” The Palestinian resistance has been pursuing information about missing Palestinians from Gaza, even as the occupation has refused to release this information.

Bogdan Yamimenok, an anti-fascist accused of belonging to the group “Antifa United” and prosecuted for “extremism” was brought before the Izmailovo Court in Moscow with an arm in a plaster cast and sling. Despite his health and his request to postpone the hearing, the judge questioned him, relying on a medical certificate authorizing his participation. Yakimenko claimed that he had only subscribed to the group on the platform VKontakte, whose posts according to him focused on political questions and the struggle against fascism, and denied any involvement in or coordination of illegal actions. He also criticized the experts that described the group as “Ukranian anarcho-Marxists,” pointing to what he saw as bias becaose of his Ukranian origins. The prosecution’s charges involved the creation of an extremist network seeking to incite others to commit crimes, involving several co-defendants.

Trial of 6 Anti-Fascists Continues in Saragossa

In January 2019, six people (four adults and two youth) were arrested in Saragossa during an anti-fascist demonstration against a Vox meeting. They were charged with disturbing public order and defying authority. The court handed down harsh sentences: 4 years and 9 months in prison for each, fines and legal costs totaling 200,000 euros, and probation for the youths. Thanks to a significant solidarity mobilization, the Spanish government granted amnesty to two of them on September 23, 2025: Francisco Javier Aijón (“Javitxu”) and Adrián Lattore both of whom had already spent 491 and 526 days in prison respectively. Two other anti-fascist political prisoners, Imad and Daniel, are still incarcerated without any explanation as to why the same wasn’t applied to them. On Saturday November 1, around 1,000 people marched for their relase in the center of Saragossa, responding to the call of the “Free the Saragossa 6” platform, while another demonstration was organized on November 20 by the Anti-Fascist Coordination in Aragorn on the occassion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Franco.

Kurdish Activist Imprisoned Pending Deportation to Turkey

Miraç Isik, a 26 year old Kurdish activist, has been detained in Zurich since September pending his deportation to Turkey, where he risks prison and torture for having, among other things, insulted president Erdogan. After having fled repression in Turkey in 2022, Miraç took refuge in Switzerland and worked there until his asylum request was rejected. His loved ones denounce the conditions of his detention, problems with his physical and mental health, and warn against the danger his return to Turkey represents. Miraç’s lawyer highlighted the impossibility of a voluntary return and the lack of a fair trial in Turkey, while the Swiss Council for Refugees criticized the current policies of deporting asylum seekers to Turkey. His friends continue to display their support and hope that solidarity will stop his deportation.

16 Student Members of the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TIP) Arrested

The Turkish program, Vocational Training Centers (MESEM), which forces youth aged 14 and above to work four days per week, has been massively criticized by unions for institutionalizing child labor and providing cheap labor, having left at least 15 dead students in the past two school years. Protests against these policies have been violently repressed, notably with the arrests and detainment of 16 studeent members of the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TIP) during a demonstration denoucing the crimes of MESEM on December 3, 2025.

Doctor Barış Kaya, known for offering free medical care to vulnerable populations, will be tried on December 9, 2025 in the Criminal Court of Istanbul. Arrested under charges deemed to be unfounded by his supporters, he has been mistreated and deprived of his right to practice medicine. Revolutionary Prisoner on Hunger Strike Forcibly Transferred in Critical Condition

On hunger strike since March 11, 2025 to demand the closure of Type F prisons and the end of human rights violations in Kırıkkale prison, Ayberk Demirdögen was forcibly transferred to the hospital on November 21 after having announced that he would stop drinking water and sugar. Taken away in handcuffs on a stretcher and detained in the hospital for five and a half hours, he refused any treatment and was sent back to the prison the same day. His health condition is described as critical: loss of consciousness, inability to move, chest and heart pain, extreme weakness, and persistent swelling. His lawyers demanded that the authorities accept his demands: end the abuse in Kırıkkale and transfer the eight other prisoners from the Type F prison in Anyalya to a regular prison.

Victory of Revolutionary Prisoner Fikret Akar after 245 Days on Hunger Strike

After 245 days on hunger strike, political prisoner Fikret Akar won his demands: he was transferred from solitary confinement in the high-security Çorlu-Karatepe prison, a Type F prison, to the Tekirdağ Type F No. 2 prison. This transfer is a new victory in the long strugle that’s been waged by revolutionary prisoners against these prisons that impose particularly inhumane conditions. Although his health has recently worsened and he expressed fears of being force-fed––preffering to die rather than being subjected to such a procedure––his demand was finally accepted. This victory follows that of Serkan Onur Yılmaz, who suspended his hunger strike after 375 days. After these victories, attention now focuses on Ayberk Demirdögen and other hunger strikers who are in critical condition, while the call to end solitary confinement prisons remains central for these prisoners and their supporters.

After 375 Days, Serkan Onur Yılmaz Suspends His Hunger Strike

Revolutionary prisoner Serkan Onur Yılmaz launched an open-ended hunger strike on November 11, 2024 to deamnd the closure of Type F prisons and his transfer to a regular prisons where his comrades are. After 213 days, his demand to be transferred was accepted and he was moved to the Bolu Type F prison. Yılmaz then continued his action in support of prisons who remained in the Type F prisons which are known for their particularly inhumane conditions. After 375 days on hunger strike, Yılmaz suspended his strike on November 21, 2025, all while highlighting his commitment to continue the fight and support his comrades who remain on strike.

Broken Windows Chaos Theory – The Collective

Broken windows – Broken state – Leaves families feeling that is their fate – Failing systems – Failing state – leaves mental health in a similar state – Families hungry they turn to crime – Shunned by society

That is a crime- Destroy the system – Destroy the state – This is the only inevitable fate – As rich get richer, poor get poorer – Unite and shout so they can’t ignore ya – Time to banish this cancerous new world order

Compassion, love – And a sprinkling of disorder – Our new world order

Let these words stew – ruminate – And just remember

Fuck the State

Former political prisoner Toby Shone recently spoke at the Tattoo Circus in Bristol about his experience in prison. His full contribution is available to read via Dark Nights.

I grew up in a time when the armed struggle and anarchist revolutionary violence was closer, I lived through times of the large counter-summit mobilisations and city-wide destablising riots in Europe. I have been in the action groups and the discussions, and I’ve seen my friends disappear into the mouth of the abyss. At the moment there is an asymetric state of war in Europe and we have just witnessed a genocide of the Palestinian people.

However, all over the world, we’re connecting our struggles in new ways, and we’re seeing the anti-authoritarian and anarchist methods and ideas spreading, especially where the State is weak, top-heavy or fractured due to its outdated nature. We are looking at a networked, horizontal future, as the system further breaks down and the ecology collapses. The infrastructure that we build today is going to take part in the social conflicts of tomorrow.

We should support all the anti-repression groups like the Anarchist Black Cross, Bristol Defendant Solidarity, the Anarchist Defence Fund, all the letter-writing groups and benefit events, organised by all the unsung heroes doing all the work to support our imprisoned comrades.

Thank you everyone for listening to my prison anecdotes and my ramblings, take care of each other, destroy the prisons, and destroy the state.

Repression News

A leaked memo from DOJ shows the FBI is making a list of “extremists”. In this memo from the DOJ, Pam Bondi orders law enforcement agencies throughout the country to submit information to the FBI within 30 days in order to “compile a list of groups or entities engaging in acts that may constitute domestic terrorism”. This memo also orders the FBI to enhance their tip-line, establish a “cash-reward system” for information, and also “establish cooperators to provide information and eventually testify against other members”. This directive appears to be the tactical method in which to implement NSPM-7, the recent memo on domestic terror which targets those expressing “opposition to law and immigration enforcement; extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders; adherence to radical gender ideology,” as well as “anti-Americanism,” “anti-capitalism,” and “anti-Christianity.”. This also follows the classification of four anarchist and antifascist organizations in Europe with a Foreign Terrorism Designation. An interview on Democracy Now! with Ken Klippenstein who published the leaked memo, discusses how the vagueness of these directives are intended to wrap anyone who disagree’s with Trump’s agenda into the dragnet.

ICE Watch

The Trump regime’s white-nationalist project of mass deportation has continued and despite widespread and generalized community resistance, it shows no sign of slowing. A travelling roadshow of high-profile militarized DHS operations follow a blueprint from city to city; an occupation by what is increasingly seen as a secret police force who conduct daily raids and abductions indiscriminately targeting people of color and low-wage workers, creating a widespread climate of fear with businesses, schools closing and events cancelled. Community members have organized rapid responders and patrols to identify, follow, document and protest DHS’s violent prescense, who unleash crowd-control munitions and make arrests against those mobilized to confront the ICE menace.

Crimethinc has published a guide written by organizers in Chicago outlining strategies to organize, monitor and confront federal immigration activity in your area.

A new Amnesty International report exposes “a deliberate system of cruelty” at the “Alligator Alcatraz” and Krome ICE detention centers in Florida.

Tucson: a DHS operation stormed the metropollitan area with 46 adbuctions occurring on December 5th alone, stunning residents and prompting multiple large protests in the evening outside the Capitol building and community events at the locations of restaurants targeted by ICE. Tucson Bail Fund sunsets, as activists stay dedicated to the work and spirit to end the criminalization of poverty.

North Carolina: In Mid November, Operation “Charlotte’s Web” targetted Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Cary, and other areas of North Carolina with sweeping raids arresting over three hundred people. Neighborhood networks utilize whistles to alert and respond to ICE sightings.

St Paul: On November 18th, hundreds gathered to confront a Homeland Security raid: police attacked with mace, pepper balls, and “sponge” rounds, arresting at least two people. DHS agents continue pointing real guns at community members resonding to ICE during arrests, at students and staff at Augsburg University, where a student was targeted. The climate of fear in the Twin Cities continues by “Operation Metro Surge” and accelerated by Trump’s recent statements of blatant racism towards Somali immigrants in Minnesota and beyond.

New York: A planned 200-agent ICE raid on Canal Street vendors was foiled by hundreds of protesters who blocked vehicles and the streets surrounding a government parking garage; several were arrested. The targeting of Canal Street was likely in response to right-wing streamers from the White House “Antifa Roundtable” filming the market and calling upon the regime to act. Nonetheless, as of this writing, people continue to sell merchandise.

Chicago: “Midway Blitz” operations mostly slowed in mid November as Bovino, CBP and National Guard forces left Illinois, but picked up again in early December with immigration raids and a community confrontation in nearby Elgin. Federal prosecutors drop charges against Marimar Martinez, who last month survived being shot 7 times by an ICE agent; charges proceed against Kat Abughazaleh and five others for “impeding” ICE agents in late September. Protests outside Broadview ICE processing center continue as ongoing lawsuits document ‘horrific’ detention conditions and use of force. Another lawsuit against the widespread unlawful warrantless detention of immigrants saw a judge order the release of 650 people, but higher courts have stayed the ruling and nearly 450 people’s fate still remain uncertain. A previous lawsuit which sought to limit the use of tear gas and other munitions was dropped by plaintiffs after the injunction was stayed by the Seventh court, but regardless DHS has already brazenly violated the injunction repeatidly and continue to use crowd-control weapons to menace the community. Bovino says they will be back in Chicago in the spring.

New Orleans: Early December saw Bovino lead CBP in another high profile surge of operations targeting blue city immigrant communities. So-called Operation “Catahoula Crunch”, DHS has heavily targeted Jefferson Parish, as Orleans parish has a consent degree which bars local law enforement from assisting federal immigration officers. The City has set up a portal to report abuse violations

Animal Liberation

On December 3rd, Animal rights activist Zoe Rosenburg of Direct Action Everywhere was sentenced to 90 days in jail in Sonoma County, California, after being found guilty of tresspassing, “stealing internal business records, and placing tracking devices on all 12 of the facility’s transport trailers, and caused over $100,000 of damage” to Petaluma Poultry. Rosenburg rescued four chickens, and put them on social media to document the company’s animal cruelty, which has been seen millions of times and garnered support from actor Joaquin Phoenix. During the sentencing, Rosenburg states “I am filled with remorse for every animal I have failed to save,”. Rosenburg’s attorneys have filed an appeal.

30 Oct – Prosecutors Invoke Law Used Against Anarchists to Charge Protesters

Federal agents arrested Sam in Atlanta for allegedly “destroying information on a Google Pixel” while he was detained by CBP earlier this year; he has since been released on bond. Supporters are circulating a statement and raising funds:

On Tuesday, Dec 2, Sam was arrested shortly after leaving work. He was pulled over while driving and asked to step out of the car to observe an issue with the tail light. He was suddenly handcuffed by the officer and surrounded by the FBI and DHS.

After one night in jail, he appeared before a judge who informed Sam he had been indicted by a grand jury in the Northern District of Georgia Federal Court for one count of destruction of evidence, for allegedly “destroying information on a Google Pixel”, to which Sam pled not guilty. The prosecution is alleging that Sam used a “secret code” to wipe information from his phone when he was detained by Customs & Border Patrol earlier this year. He was granted a standard appearance bond by the judge.

ABC chapters and allied organizations across the US and Canada put together 10 Running Down The Walls 5K events this fall raising a combined $17,572 for the ABCF Warchest Program. These events, along with the support of contributors like you, enabled us to once again consistently provide bimonthly disbursements to over a dozen Warchest Program recipients. Since its inception in 1994, the ABCF Warchest has raised almost $275,000 and at times has been the primary financial support for several political prisoners. As we head into the new year, we plan for 2026 to be chock full of solidarity, mutual aid, and freedom for political prisoners– we’d love it if you could join us in building capacity for these efforts.

Notably, just this year we added 6 recipients to the Warchest (Brian DiPippa, Agustin Pérez Domínguez, Agustin Pérez Velasco, Juan Velasco Aguilar, Martín Pérez Domínguez, and Hridindu Roychowdhury) increasing the volume of disbursements by about 1/3 and bringing the current recipient total to 17 comrades! As usual, we are actively involved in supporting defendants and ready to offer support in new cases as they unfold. In the spirit of giving to those who have sacrificed their freedom for liberation movements, please consider making a contribution to sustain the work of the ABCF Warchest and spread the word.
